G.V. SATHYA NARARYANA is a well know personality in Bukkapatnam and was a determined freedom fighter before India’s Independence. He told that he was ever prepared to go to jail or risk his life in his fight to liberate his Motherland from the grasp of the English Imperialism. When India received Her Independence, the State Government of Andra Pradesh, acknowledged his courage and bravery and gave him a certificate of valour. He was also awarded fourteen acres of agricultural land in the village of Bukkapatnam. Afterwards he was nominated President of “Gram Panchayat” for land and development activities in his native village. Besides farming his land he was also a businessman of repute. There is no need to say that he is still a very well respected and popular gentleman with clout in spite of his age. He also occupies various important positions in Puttaparthi, Bukkapatnam and in other parts of the State of Andhra Pradesh.
At present, he is the Convener for the Sathya Sai Organisation and Executive Director for Vasavi Sethram Samudayam of Sri Sailam in the Kurnool District of Andhra Pradesh. When I finally asked him about his future plans, his answer was quick and to the point. He answered, “ I will continue doing what I am doing, that is doing my social work for my community for as long as I live. I would also like to continue my dedicated work for the Congress Organisation with Baba’s grace and Divine Blessings. Furthermore, I would like to see the enhancement of village life and Gram Seva activities to continue in the future.”
Today, he walks with the aid of walking stick and still attends Swami’s darshans regularly and sits on a chair in the veranda amongst the VIPs. Swami very often talks to him and discusses various other matters including that of the village of Bukkapatnam. Whenever Swami visits Bukkapatnam, He makes it HIS duty to pay a visit to HIS old friend’s house and bless his family members. Swami’s friendship with this gentleman is everlasting and full of goodwill wishes and bliss and HIS letter makes this crystal clear.
May this relationship between Our Beloved Swami and Sri G.V. Sathya Narayana be a lesson to us all to emulate.
Baba bound by devotion of devotees
“Whenever, I go for darshan, I sit in the front line and take padanamaskaram and Swami used to call me into the interview room and give me many spiritual lessons and also used to tell me about constructions that were going on. I used to go back with a heart full of joy. It so happened one day that Swami passed me by without even looking at me. I felt very much for it and started thinking what wrong have I done? With that agony, I wrote a letter to Swami. In that letter I asked Swami to pardon me if knowingly or unknowingly I had made a mistake. By going through my letter in order to console me with great love and affection, Swami with a lot of patience wrote a letter. If one goes through that letter Swami’s greatest concern for devotees, love and kindness of His can be felt, I give the essence of it.”
Letter from Swami:
Dear Sathya Narayana,
The happiness of the devotees is my food and if they are unhappy means my food is lessened. The true nature of man is Love, Joy and Peace. Therefore, there is no wrong if he desires his own eternal truthful and pleasant place. Just as a fish kept in a golden vessel agitates to go back to his original place. That is the aim of man. You wrote me that for your today’s position and happiness Swami’s Love and compassion are responsible. It made me happy. Our relationship is not of today. It is of a very long time. It can’t be changed. You don’t have to entertain any doubt regarding this. Swami is yours forever. I won’t change nor slide. Your place in my heart is there, as it is and where it is. It has not been destroyed nor going to be destroyed. Be bold. Don’t give scope for the thoughts that discourage you. Swing in my heart of cradle with happiness. By talking to devotees who came for Dasara (Nava Rathri) I was busy and that only gives me satisfaction. That is the reason why I did not talk to you. Don’t think that our relationship is strained. This is the relationship of Atma. It is an unchangeable kindness. You will receive happiness soon. Enjoy the peace.
Your’s Baba
Swami the ultimate Lord of Miracles
“Swami loves Pandari Bhajans and He use to give us training in doing them. After we learnt from Him to some extent, we were taken to Puttaparthi and Bukkapatnam to dance in the streets of villages singing bhajans. He used to hold the flag pole in His hand, dancing and singing, making everybody happy. On one particular day, it was 5.00 PM when we reached the Chitravati River, dancing and singing along the streets of Puttaparthi. Swami asked us to continue the bhajans. We were all involved in singing and dancing with flags in our hands, while Swami sat on the sand near to us. He started making a heap of the sand while we were sitting around Him singing. He was enjoying Himself when all got up in great joy and started saying victory to Him. Then Swami asked us to sit down and open the lid of the vessel containing the liquid. He created a small spoon and put 2 to 3 drops on our tongues. The sweetness and the smell of it are inexplicable.”
